EntreComp4Transition Featured at Euroguidance Conference 2024

Vienna, November 2024

EntreComp4Transition’s Austrian partner, WIFI International, was proud to participate in the Austrian Euroguidance Conference 2024, held on November 14 in Vienna. Organised by OeAD and Euroguidance Austria, this significant event brought together career guidance professionals, policymakers, educators, and researchers to explore the theme “The Potential of Artificial Intelligence in Career Guidance and Counselling.” The conference focused on how AI technologies are reshaping career development, workforce planning, and educational strategies across Europe.

The programme featured a diverse range of high-profile speakers and interactive sessions. A keynote address by Alison Burke from the OECD explored the transformative potential of digital technologies in career guidance. This was followed by a panel discussion that examined the balance between innovation and the ethical considerations of AI adoption in career services. Sessions covered a variety of topics, including how AI can improve counselling for displaced youth and how to equip career counsellors with AI-related skills to meet future demands.

Workshops provided hands-on opportunities for participants to explore the application of AI tools in career counselling, with a focus on tailoring services for displaced youth and developing AI competencies for career professionals. Attendees were encouraged to engage with emerging technologies, considering both their potential benefits and limitations in the context of the evolving career guidance landscape.

A key highlight of the event was the “methods market,” a dedicated networking space where organisations showcased innovative approaches and tools from their EU-funded projects. Among these, the EntreComp4Transition project was prominently featured at a stand hosted by Nadine Schönstedt. Participants had the opportunity to engage with the project’s outputs, including specialized training materials and a self-diagnosis tool designed to enhance entrepreneurial competencies. The presentation also emphasised the upcoming student mobility initiatives, which aim to foster cross-cultural exchange and learning opportunities. The project’s role in equipping individuals with essential entrepreneurial and business skills to adapt to the dynamic demands of the modern workforce was highlighted.

The conference concluded with a reflective session and a networking reception, underscoring the importance of collaboration in addressing the complexities of AI-driven career guidance.
